Introduction
Over seven weeks until 25 August, we are going to read through most of “The Letter of Paul to the Ephesians”. We are used to hearing the bible read in verses, chapters and in short sections. It was not first written to be heard in this way. The Early Church would have had someone read it allowed for all present to hear from the beginning to end. It is meant to be heard as part of the community and in its entirety. I don’t think in the first century they could have imagined how we would use it today.
Can I suggest you read the whole of this letter. It’s only 6 chapters and should not take too long to do.
Perhaps you might ask yourself how has this letter helped reveal something more of the mystery at the heart of the Good News we celebrate?
